Frequently asked questions
What is Bitcoin postage?+
Bitcoin postage means purchasing shipping labels — the postage printed on packages — using Bitcoin (BTC) instead of a credit card or bank transfer. CryptoPostage accepts BTC for USPS, UPS, FedEx, and DHL labels.
How does the Bitcoin exchange rate affect my postage cost?+
At checkout, the carrier rate (in USD) is converted to BTC at the current exchange rate and locked in for the duration of your payment window. You pay the exact BTC amount shown — there are no surprise fees after checkout.
Can I buy postage for multiple packages with one Bitcoin transaction?+
Yes. For multiple shipments, use the bulk upload feature. Upload a CSV of shipments, review the total cost, and pay for all labels in one Bitcoin transaction.
What Bitcoin wallet do I need?+
Any standard on-chain Bitcoin wallet works: hardware wallets (Ledger, Trezor, Coldcard), software wallets (Sparrow, BlueWallet, Electrum), or a BTC withdrawal from an exchange. The invoice generates a standard Bitcoin address.
Does buying postage with Bitcoin affect my taxes?+
In the US, spending Bitcoin on goods or services may be a taxable event (capital gain/loss on the BTC used). This is the same for any Bitcoin purchase. CryptoPostage does not provide tax advice — consult a tax professional.
